Calling All Cheerleaders to our Neighbor Outreach project!

Hey Cheerleader, thanks for finding us here!
We are a group of passionate Clevelanders who have connected through Upcycle Parts Shop and want to use our creativity and time to spread cheer to senior citizens in the neighborhoods around us!
Our goal is to brighten someone's day with a handmade card -we call it cheer :) and let them know they are not alone, and someone is thinking of them!
Some people rarely get mail, or cannot have visitors, and we know that senior citizens are most likely to be isolated in these ways. We aim to share cheer with isolated seniors who may get less interaction due to pandemic, and we have focused on buildings with senior citizens around our shop’s location in Cleveland’s St. Clair Superior neighborhood of Cleveland. We hope to send cheer to the same people more than once! As of March, 2021, we have made and delivered cards to 700 people.
The group that makes and delivers the cheer-by-mail program calls itself “Neighbor Outreach” and is a group of 6 volunteer Neighbor Outreach council members from throughout Cleveland and a part-time staff person from our neighborhood.

As a non-profit organization, Upcycle Parts Shop is powered by the support of others. You can support this work by making an online donation of any size and putting “neighbor outreach” in the notes, or by sending a check in the mail to Upcycle Parts Shop with “neighbor outreach” in the memo. Because we are a tax exempt organization, financial donations are tax deductible!
